Eibleis Fanning - Managing Director

Eibleis founded Frontier in 1989. She is a prime mover in the gap year sector, having extensive knowledge and experience of the provision of well structured project placements. Eibleis has a particular interest and expertise in running conservation projects, where she sees the manager's role as one of uniting local community groups with donor agencies. For over twenty years she has been developing and managing natural resource conservation projects in response to locally identified concerns throughout the world, from Borneo's rainforest to Madagascar's coral reefs.

Bobby Johal General Manager, USA

Bobby Johal - General Manager, USA

Bobby Johal graduated in Accounting from Loughborough University and joined Frontier in 1998.  Having managed the accounts, development, sales and operations departments, Bobby now works as UK general manager for the company.

With Frontier's operations being so varied, Bobby thrives on the new challenges and developments that each day brings.

David’s background is in project management, web development and e-commerce.  With a lifelong passion for environmental and wildlife issues, he was delighted to join Frontier in March 2012 as Online Marketing Manager.

With the backing of a dedicated and talented team of marketing and journalism staff, David works to promote Frontier and to improve the company's international presence.

Paul Whittle Head of Field Operations

Paul Whittle - Head of Field Operations

A serious travel addict, Paul managed to turn his lifestyle into a career and has been involved in adventure travel for the last 15 years across the globe, from initially an expedition leader through to senior management positions.

Over the years he developed a desire to not only offer travel experiences but to do so in a way that provides opportunities and benefits to the communities being visited. Having run a social business and NGO in India he returned to the UK to take up his position as our Head of Field Operations at Frontier and continue in this regard.

Paul is passionate about the opportunities we offer for personal and professional development to our staff and participants, whilst at the same time engaging in truly impactful environmental research, conservation and community development projects.

In his role at Frontier he is mainly responsible for overseeing the operations and administration of all our directly operated overseas conservation, teaching & community group projects globally.

Daniel  Davies Overseas Operations Manager

Daniel Davies - Overseas Operations Manager

After completing my MSc in International Development in 2010, I joined Frontier as an Overseas Ops Intern in their London Headquarters. Follwoing a successful 6 months in the role, I was offered the amazing opportunity to head out to the Costa Rica programme as Project Coordinator. Managing the Costa Rica project for a year was one of the most amazing experiences I have had to date and I have remained forever grateful to Frontier for the opportunity.

After a few years working within renewable energy and heading to run another conservation project out in the Seychelles, I returned to London to look for a higher managerial role that would focus on remote project management of conservation and sustainable development projects. Returning to work with Frontier again was an easy decision and the role of Overseas Operations Manager was a excellent opportunity.

In my role I am responsible for managing the operations and administration of Frontier’s overseas conservation, teaching & community projects for Costa Rica, Belize, Cambodia and the Ethical Adventure Trails. My tasks includes the day to day support for the field projects including budgets, equipment, communications, procurement, staff and transportation and also comprises a large element of human resources for both the overseas projects and London HQ.

Sarah Jessop UK Operations Manager

Sarah Jessop - UK Operations Manager

Sarah developed a love of travelling from a young age and loves being able to experience new countries and cultures. Before studying for her degree in Zoology and Masters in Animal behaviour she volunteered at a wildlife rehabilitation centre in South Africa where she developed her interest in wildlife conservation. She is passionate about making positive change and has always wanted to work for an N.G.O, so the opportunity to work at Frontier seemed like a no brainer!

In this role, Sarah is excited to be able to help provide others with a great and unique experience and to help them discover their passion for conservation be it with nature or communities.

Sylvie Le Group Projects Coordinator

Sylvie Le - Group Projects Coordinator

I have been addicted to travelling since I was young. I have grown up in France, and I got the chance to frequently go to Asian countries. I have also improved my English while living in America, Australia and New Zealand for a few months. Last year I volunteered in a remote Filipino village and conducted several environmental and community development projects. It was such a great humanitarian experience and I have made friends for life in such a beautiful country.

Going abroad developed my passion for discovering new cultures, meeting new people and also for the environment and wildlife.

Once back in Europe, I decided to move to London where I have found the Project Coordinator position with Frontier. Joining an NGO focusing on conservation issues and wildlife, but also on community development is very rewarding. Furthermore, I now understand how the projects are managed and coordinated, which is very interesting for me, as I would like to pursue my career in environmental projects management.

Joining Frontier as an Online Journalism Intern after graduating with a degree in Journalism and Politics, Guy loves all things exploring and travel. Born and raised in South Africa, Guy is fascinated by culture, exploring, wildlife and everything else the world has to offer and has had the opportunity to travel extensively in Asia, Europe and southern Africa, writing and taking pictures along the way.

Before becoming the Online Content Editor, Guy was Frontier’s Project Manager on the Tenerife Whale and Dolphin Conservation project and also worked as a survival instructor all over the world as well as working for many travel journalism publications and outlets.

Guy's job is about updating, informing and entertaining the Frontier community with the latest Frontier news and goings on from all our operations across the globe.

Lucia Ruggiero - Partner Projects Volunter Coordinator

What is your passion? I was asked this question so many times during my all life and for so long I did not how to answer it. The problem was that I focused on finding one while I always had many! Travelling, wildlife & environmental conservation, community development are my main passions.

My constant desire to travel the world and to live in a sustainable way discovering new cultures has grown within me in these last years. After graduating in Political Science & International Relations it was time for me to leave my nest. The destination? Frontier, in London.

My time at Frontier as Partner Project Volunteer Coordinator has given me a great inspiration on what I would like to achieve in the future. Working for a non-profit conservation and development NGO it is rewarding and satisfying. I really enjoy helping the others to get the best outcome from their experience and also having the chance to create new partnerships with organisations from all around the world is very stimulating.

Fernanda Baraybar - Volunteer Advisor

Coming from Peru and Venezuela I have spent my life aware of the struggles in the world. Since I was very young I enjoyed doing volunteer work with various orphanages and environmental initiatives throughout South America. I was also very lucky to complete my university studies in Switzerland in a school that promotes travel and worldwide knowledge. Visiting various countries such as South Korea, Malawi, Greece, Malaysia and more, I decided to make my passion for travelling and volunteering my career. I searched to implement my studies of marketing and events with an organization that works to help improve the world. Frontier is a great place to do both and I am extremely excited to be a part of the team!

Steven Bratten - Overseas Operations Officer

While studying Marine & Freshwater Biology at University, I originally planned to move into research but grew increasingly concerned and shocked with the scale and impact of the damage that humans are causing to the environment. Slowly but surely I realised that I would not be comfortable sitting in a lab and analysing data, I knew that I had to go down the NGO path and work for an organisation which I knew was doing good work on the ground as well as conducting solid scientific research in remote and often threatened areas in the natural world. After volunteering and working for environmental NGO’s in several developing countries I felt that I was ready to join the operations team of a well-established, international NGO. Frontier was my natural first choice. Working for Frontier is never boring, always exciting and endlessly rewarding.
